Series Title: "Families Gone Wild Series"
Sunday July 29 - August 26, 2007
There is an endangered species in our culture: the family. It seems that the family, as defined and ordained by God, is passe´. Marriages continue to fail at an alarming rate, and it is increasingly difficult to raise our children with values that are at odds with pop culture. What to do? Give up? No! What we need to do is look at the biblical model of family, marriage and parenting, and put those principles to work.
July 29 "Part 1: Marriage"
If you are or have ever been married, then you know that God definitely has a sense of humor! Marriage can be wonderful, but it can also be a lot of work. In fact, it takes a great amount of work and patience. Maybe it would help if we understand why God ordained marriage and how the institution is a divine template coming from salvation – which works to guide us into great marriages if we will simply, follow it!

Aug 5 "Part 2: The ‘S’ Word"
There is a word in scripture, coming from the book of Ephesians, which has caused uneasiness for years. What word might that be? Submit. The uneasiness comes from simply not understanding what the Apostle Paul was saying when he wrote his letter to the church at Ephesus. When we do understand, we see that God has given us a beautiful blueprint of how to have a wonderful, loving marriage built upon a relationship with Christ.

August 12 "Part 3: Parenthood"
As we begin week three of this series, we begin focusing on our children, and how to be better parents. Perhaps a good subtitle would be: “Raising G-rated Kids in an X-rated World” because the task of raising our kids in this culture can be so difficult. In this message, we will explore 10 items that our kids desperately need from us, beginning with these first three: belief, time and memories. These three are a great place to start our dialogue on having the type of family we all would like to be a part of.

August 19 "Part 4: It Takes An Example"
Do you ever feel, as a parent, that you’ve just blown it? Made a big mistake with your kids? If you answered yes, join the club! There’s not a perfect parent out there, never has been, never will be. So cut yourself some slack. That being said, all parents want to be better, and so we continue our series with three more items that our kids need from parents (numbers 4 – 6): encouragement, role models and discipline. Each of these is critical to the development of our children as followers of Jesus Christ.

August 26 "Part 5: The Final 4"
The finale of our "Families Gone Wild Series." In the previous messages we have been discussing what our kids really need from us, as parents, to grow into well-rounded adults who love Jesus. Items 7 – 10 are: affection, responsibility, fun and a peaceful home. Raising G-rated kids in an X-rated world can be difficult, but not impossible.
